NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The City of Newburgh began demolition and removal of an unsafe home on Moores Hill Road Monday.
The home was deemed unsafe due to asbestos and structural deficiencies. Crews demolished with the asbestos in-place before being hauled to the Ontario landfill. Air quality tests were performed before, during and after the demolition to ensure asbestos levels stayed within the acceptable range.
Demolition of the home will also ensure the integrity of the Bron's Pond Reservoir.
