NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. – The first woman to lead an air wing in the New York Air National Guard assumed her command during a ceremony on Sunday, according to the Daily Freeman.
Col. Denise Donnell took over the 105th Airlift Wing that operates out of Stewart Air National Guard Base. Donnell is a Clifton Park native with more than 3,800 hours of flight time logged in several different aircraft, the Daily Freeman reported.
In her new role, Donell will oversee a wing of over 1330 personnel with an annual payroll of $78 million.
