Sex Offender Convicted Of Sodomizing Boy Reports Move To Wallkill

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 60-year-old Roger Cook, who has reported a move to an apartment on New Unionville Road in Wallkill.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Cook as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Cook had deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with his 11-year-old victim in October 1992. He was convicted of second-degree attempted sodomy the following month and sentenced to a term of five years probation. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Plattekill Town Police Department.
