The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Orange County residents regarding the residency of 45-year-old Esteban Cintron, who has moved to an address on West Main Street in Middletown.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Cintron as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Cintron used a threat to overpower his 11-year-old victim and had sexual intercourse, deviate sexual intercourse and sexual contact with her in April 1999. He was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual act by forcible compulsion, first-degree sexual abuse of a person incapable of consenting or who was physically helpless and third-degree criminal sexual act for having oral or anal conduct with a person incapable of consent. Cintron was sentenced to a term of between 16 months and four years in state prison in February 2002. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Middletown Police Department.
