Middletown Woman Caught Bringing Methadone Into Prison, Police Say

A Middletown woman is facing charges after state police say she brought methadone into the Fishkill Correctional Facility with the intent to provide it to an inmate.

State Police from the Wappinger barracks arrested Laura D. Clouse, 39, and charged her with promoting prison contraband (a Class D felony), criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class C felony) and criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class D felony).

The State Police were assisted by the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

Clouse was arraigned at the Village of Fishkill Court, where she was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,000 cash or $14,000 bond. Her next appearance was scheduled for July 5 at the Town of Fishkill Court.
