Montgomery Police Say Aging Cruisers Could Become A Problem

The Town received a letter from an attorney representing the Montgomery PBA that said squad cars are up to 10 years old with some having as many as 140,000 miles on them. This, according to the letter, is well past the intended lifespan of a police vehicle, the Record reported.

The department currently has 12 cars, two of which are out of service. Board member Sheryl Melick said the town is looking into leasing two new vehicles to help update the fleet, the Record said.
