Pleasant Valley Man Caught With Crack, Cocaine, Police Say

A 34-year-old man from Pleasant Valley was arrested on Feb. 1 on multiple drug and weapon charges, according to state police.

State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Joseph M. Rogers for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree with Intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, both B felonies.

Rogers was additionally charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree, both class A misdemeanors, state police said on Thursday.

The arrest occurred about 10:20 p.m during a traffic stop on a 2008 Nissan Altima traveling on Route 55 in the town of Lagrange for a violation of the vehicle and traffic law. Troopers' investigation found Rogers to be in possession of approximately 20.8 grams of cocaine, 16.8 grams of crack-cocaine, and a small amount of Hydrocodone.

Rogers was arraigned before the town of Lagrange Court and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
