Teacher Assistant From Middletown Charged In Two Rapes

A teacher's assistant from the Hudson Valley was arrested by members of the New York State Police for allegedly raping youths in her care at a residential facility.

Following an investigation, state police from Highland arrested 36-year-old Middletown resident Nicole Potts-Miller on a charge of felony rape and sexual abuse, a misdemeanor, for an alleged incident at the Highland Residential Center on Chodikee Lake Road.

According to police, the investigation determined that Potts-Miller engaged in sexual conduct with two residents at the facility while she was employed as a teacher’s assistant during the time of the alleged incidents.

Potts-Miller was arraigned before Town of Esopus Court Justice Elizabeth Stanley Manicone on the charges before being remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
