A pair of Hudson Valley residents were among several motorists busted in New York for DWI overnight as State and local law enforcement agencies continue their concerted efforts to curtail intoxicated drivers in the region as part of a national crackdown.

As part of the STOP-DWI crackdown, New York State Police troopers busted several motorists for driving while intoxicated as they attempt to stop motorists from drinking and driving in the area.

Local residents charged include:

  • On Monday, June 11, State Police from Middletown arrested Gladys Jean-Baptiste, 61, of Middletown, for DWI. She was traveling on Route 302 in Wallkill when she was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation during the subsequent traffic stop determined that she was allegedly impaired by alcohol and she was subsequently arrested.
  • On Monday, June 11, State Police from Coxsackie arrested Timothy Henion, 26, of Beacon, for DWI. He was traveling on Route 23 in Catskill when he was stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. An investigation during the subsequent traffic stop determined that he was allegedly impaired by drugs and he was subsequently arrested.

Other DWI and DWAI arrests were made in Riverhead, Lake Katrine and Arvenrne.

Both of the motorists was arrested at the scene and charged with misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated. Each has since been released to a sober third-party and are due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
