Absentee Ballots Give Lujan Democratic Primary Win In Newburgh

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Absentee ballots allowed Kevindaryan Lujan to pass Omari Shakur to win the Democratic primary election for one of Newburgh's county legislature seats, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Lujan trailed Shakur by six votes when polls closed on Sept. 12, but wound up winning by a 303-298 tally. Lujan will appear on the November ballot on the Democratic and Working Families lines, the Record reported.
