West Point Ready To Take On Some Of College Football's Best

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The West Point football team is coming off a year that saw the team win its first bowl game since 2010, and – perhaps more importantly – beat Navy for the first time since 2001. If the Black Knights hope want to make it two winning seasons in a row, they'll have to do it facing some of the stiffest competition in the country.

West Point's schedule kicks off Friday night against Fordham at 6 p.m. The cadets return the majority of an offense that ranked second in the nation in rushing yards in 2016.

The real test will come two weeks later when the Black Knights travel to Columbus, Ohio to face the Ohio State Buckeyes, currently ranked second in the nation in the AP Pre-season poll.

Other key dates on the West Point schedule include a trip to Colorado to take on Air Force on Nov. 4 and the annual season-ending game against Navy on Dec. 9 in Philadelphia.

Wins against the other military academies will net West Point its first Commander-in-Chief's trophy since 1996.
