ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – The much-needed rain coming to Orange County will manage to break up the recent heat wave, but only for a few days, according to the National Weather Service.

Clouds will roll into the area on Wednesday bringing a 40 percent chance of rain. It will be noticeably cooler with highs only reaching the mid-60s.

Rain will linger overnight and into Thursday morning. The day will remain mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the low-60s.

Sun returns on Friday but temperatures will remain closer to the typical average for this time of year. Expect mid-60s during the day.

Temperatures that feel more like summer are expected to return over the weekend.
