NJ Marine Vet Dies At 24: Remembering Zack Paleologos
Zack Paleologos, a 24-year-old Jackson native, died on Thursday, Aug. 20. The cause of death was suicide, his sister, Isabella Paleologos, said on a GoFundMe set up following his passing.
Paleologos, a Marine veteran, died just 10 days prior to his 25th birthday.
"We are devastated beyond words," Isabella wrote. "We are still in shock, trying to comprehend how we could possibly be living in a world without him in it."
Zack was living in California at the time of his death and the fundraiser is meant to bring his body home to New Jersey, so he can be properly laid to rest.

The family of a South Jersey woman killed alongside her longtime partner in a head-on crash involving a stolen G-Wagon is raising money to help lay her to rest.
Alice Stilwell, 67, and Robert “Bob” Barr Jr., 54, both of Egg Harbor Township, were killed in the crash in Mays Landing on Saturday, Aug. 22, authorities said.

A heavily intoxicated man chased a woman from a Bergen County home with a knife after threatening to kill her and a child, authorities said.
Police were called to a Fairview home for a domestic incident involving a weapon in Fairview on Saturday, Aug. 22, around 8:20 p.m., Deputy Police Chief John Pierrotti said.

An 18-year-old has been arrested after a stabbing sent a victim to the hospital from a Hawthorne home over the weekend, police confirmed.
Keishmer O. Roman was arrested in connection with the Sunday, Aug. 23 incident, Hawthorne police confirmed.
