Richard Freud, 86, Lived In Pearl River More Than Half A Century
Richard (Dick) Freud, a 52 year resident of Pearl River, died Wednesday, June 21, at The Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City, at the age of 86.
Freud, who served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War as an Army Ranger, worked for the New York City Police Department for more than 33 years as a Lieutenant in the Mid-Town North Precinct.
He later enjoyed retirement with his wife of 62 years, Rita, splitting their time in Sun City, Ariz., for a number of years, before returning full time to Pearl River.

Linda Rella-Bacon, 68, a longtime resident of Fishkill, passed away on Tuesday, June 20 at the Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne.
Originally from the Bronx, she married Theodore Bacon and relocated to the Hudson Valley in 1970. She worked hard in the mortgage and real estate business for many years while she raised three children. She loved her family, friends, Italian food, music, and dancing.
A yearlong battle with cancer led her to the Rosary Hill Home, where she spent her final months surrounded by family and friends.

DWI Rockland Driver Who Nearly Hits Patrol Car Turned Over To ICE
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A car chase, a crash and a fire all led to a Spring Valley man in the country illegally being charged with felony DWI on Sunday, June 18, before being turned over to ICE, said the Spring Valley Police.
The incident occurred when officers saw Maycol Ucelo Arreola, originally of Guatemala, operating a vehicle in an erratic matter; nearly striking a patrol unit on John Street, said Officer Matthew Galli.
Officers tried to stop Arreola, but he failed to comply and instead attempted to flee from police by breaking numerous traffic laws, Galli said.
