Daytime Lane Closures Scheduled On I-87 Near Tappan Zee Bridge For Days
There will be daytime lane closures for several days on the Rockland-bound New York State Thruway next week as contracting crews continue work in the area. Tappan Zee Constructors announced that they will continue roadway improvements near the new Tappan Zee Bridge, which will require single-lane closures on I-87/I-287. Beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, there will be one left northbound lane closed from exit 8 to exit 10. Route 59 Reopens After Truck Hits Overpass
This story has been updated. A stretch of Route 59 has reopened after it was shut down in both directions following a tractor-trailer hit an overpass in Rockland County. The incident occurred around noon on Wednesday, Feb. 6 between Route 17 and 4th Street in Hillburn. No injuries were reported. Expect Delays: Daytime Double Lane Closures Scheduled On I-684
Motorists traveling on I-684 in Westchester and Putnam counties may see delays this week as contracting crews conduct work in the area. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert warning that there will be double lane closures northbound on I-684 in North Salem and Southeast between exit 8 (Hardscrabble Road) and exit 9 (I-84). Crash Causes Gridlock On Tappan Zee Bridge During Evening Commute
This story has been updated. There was gridlock on the northbound (Rockland-bound) Tappan Zee Bridge following a crash that took out two lanes before being cleared. The crash occurred near the Rockland/Westchester line of the span, with stop-and-go delays stretching back miles on I-87 and I-287 back to White Plains just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. Starting Date Set For Harriman Toll Plaza Demolition
Demolition of the Harriman toll plaza on the New York State Thruway has a starting date, following the Thruway Authority’s transition to cashless tolls in the Hudson Valley. Beginning on Monday, Jan. 14, a Westchester contracting company will begin demolition in Harriman, as the state continues a $13.9 million plan to convert plazas in the region to cashless, all-electronic tolls. Both lanes reopened by noontime after a crash involving an overturned car and two others vehicles caused gridlock on a stretch of I-87 near the new Tappan Zee Bridge late Friday morning. Box Truck Crash Backs Up Traffic On New TZB
A crash that slowed traffic for about an hour on the new Tappan Zee Bridge has been cleared, but there are still residual back-ups. The crash of a box truck took place around 1 p.m. Friday on the Westchester-bound side near Exit 13 in Tarrytown, said the New York State Police. Currently, the bus lane and shoulder southbound are closed for repairs to the side of the bridge where the truck hit, state police said. Troopers have cleared the scene and traffic should be back up to speed soon, they added. No serious injuries were reported.

Roadwork Alert: Traffic Shift Scheduled For Route 32 In Orange County
Traffic will be shifting to recently constructed roads and bridges on a busy Orange County roadway. The New York State Department of Transportation issued an alert on Tuesday warning that beginning on Monday, Dec. 17, motorists on Route 32 in Woodbury will be shifty onto newly constructed roads and bridges. The shift comes as part of the ongoing Woodbury Transit Hub reconstruction project.
