Two Nabbed In Burglary At Newburgh Auto Parts Store Two men were nabbed for an auto parts burglary and for stealing from area car dealerships following an investigation by the New York State Police. Robert Grahn, 28, and Edward Defreese, 40, were charged with felony burglary and felony criminal mischief following the investigation which revealed the two had burglarized a Town of Newburgh auto parts store by breaking out the front glass door and stealing the cash register, said Trooper Steven Nevel. Margaret Vatter, 52, Westchester Native Westchester County native Maggie Harding Vatter, formerly of Cornwall, died following a long illness on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Providence, R.I. She was 52. The daughter of Patrick Joseph Harding and the late Maurie Panzer Harding, Vatter was born at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers on Oct. 29, 1964. Vatter grew up on Jackson Avenue in New Windsor, with her siblings, Mary Harding Kramer, the late Patrick Kevin Harding, the late Timothy Gerard Harding, and the late Kathleen Ann Harding. Man Seen Near Schools In Ellenville Had Chainsaw, Police Say A man working with a chainsaw Wednesday near the Ellenville Central School campus was mistaken for a person with an assault rifle, causing a lockdown of the schools, police said. As work continues on the new Tappan Zee Bridge, commuters, residents, and even school districts should get ready for a month of delays, detours and more as a large portion of River Road in South Nyack is closed to make room for the demolition of the existing Tappan Zee Bridge. Police Investigating Suspicious White Powder Found At Yonkers Business Police are investigating a suspicious powder found at 1050 Neppherhan Ave., Yonkers Police said. The powder was found around 1:30 p.m. in an envelope and Hazmat has responded to the scene, police said. "We are still investigating," said Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos.
