Longtime RPD Police Chaplin Rabbi Juda Weberman Dies RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The Ramapo Police Department is mourning the loss Monday of its longtime Police Chaplin Rabbi Judah Weberman. Rabbi Weberman, who passed away at his home in Monsey, was 94 years old.  He served with the department as a police chaplain from the 1950's through the early 2000's, in addition to volunteering with the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps for more than 40 years.

Stony Point Couple Arrested For Animal Cruelty After 10 Dead Dogs Found ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  A Stony Point husband and wife were formally arrested on Friday for animal cruelty after 10 dead dogs were found on their property on June 22, according to the Hudson Valley Humane Society. Louis Jerome Adler, 75, and his wife, Dorothy Adler, 72, were charged with 44 counts of cruelty to animals, the Humane Society said. The society, along with numerous law enforcement agencies, served a search warrant on the home at 13 Chestnut St., in Stony Point, in June after receiving numerous complaints of abuse, neglect and unsanitary conditions at the home, officials said. …

Two Injured In Hyde Park Explosion DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - Two people were injured Sunday when an explosion on a boat at the Brass Anchor Marine engulfed the boat in flames in Hyde Park, according to the Fairview Fire District. Firefighters responded around 1 p.m. to the marina in Hyde Park where they found a boat fully on fire with danger to the dock area, said Chief Christopher Maeder.  The two people on the boat were able to escape when the fire began to spread, but did receive minor injuries.
