East Fishkill Man Caught With 150 Bags Of Heroin, Crack, Others Drugs
An East Fishkill man was nabbed with 150 bags of heroin and other drugs during a recent search of his residence on Blue Hill Road, according to the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
The search warrant was a result of an investigation into narcotics sales taking place at that location, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant coordinator for the task force.
Taken into custody at that time was Rodney Lowe, 43, when agents uncovered 150 bags of heroin, 6 pounds of marijuana, quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine, scales and packaging materials, Tasciotti said.

Carmel Woman Who Flees Domestic Dispute Charged With DWI
A Carmel woman involved in a domestic dispute was charged with DWI after she tried to flee the scene, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies Chad Demarzo, Christopher Irwin and Jonathan Irwin were recently dispatched to a reported dispute in progress at a house on Alan Drive in the Mahopac Falls, said Capt. William McNamara.
When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed Kerry Massi, 54, of Carmel, driving away from the scene. The deputies stopped her vehicle and determined that she was intoxicated, McNamara said.

Pine Plains Man Stole More $2.5K In Jewelry From Family Member, Police Say
A Pine Plains man was arrested Tuesday for stealing more than $2,500 in jewelry from a family member's home, according to the New York State Police.
Jason M. Stroly, 22, was arrested by the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks, along with the Poughkeepsie Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and charged with felony burglary, petit larceny and possession of marijuana, state police said.
Troopers stopped a speeding Subaru Legacy operated by Stroly on the Taconic State Parkway. During the stop, troopers found the pot and the stolen jewelry, police said.

Man Cheated Westchester Parishes Of $240K In Youth Day Scam, Feds Say
A travel agent was charged with fraud Wednesday for collecting more than $240,000 from various Westchester parishes for area youth to attend World Youth Day in Europe, but instead spent the money on himself, according to Joon H. Kim, the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Vincent Maffucci, 77, of Las Vegas, was charged with mail fraud in the scheme in which he collected the money for the Catholic Church tour in July and August 2016, Kim said.

Rhinebeck Victim Says Drug Deal Gone Bad Caused Violent Bat Attack
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A Rhinebeck man who was viciously attacked by three men with a baseball bat on Wednesday, Aug. 30, during a drug deal gone bad, said a stranger who called 911 saved his life, according to the Daily Freeman.
Joseph Banks, 32, told police he traveled to a farm stand in Saugerties to buy $90 of marijuana from the men. When the deal went bad and he threatened to call the police, the men chased Banks to the Mayfield Estates where he banged on the door of one of the homes for help, said the Freeman.
