Connecticut Bicyclist Killed In Route 6 Crash In Putnam County A bicyclist from Connecticut was killed Friday on Route 6 in Southeast, N.Y., when he turned in front of a car, according to Putnam County Sheriff Don Smith. The crash occurred at about 9:05 a.m. in the two westbound lanes of the highway, just east of Starr Ridge Road, according to preliminary reports from the scene, said Capt. William McNamara. 40 Cycles Given Award At Mayor Mike's Bike Drive YONKERS, N.Y. -- This week some 40 Yonkers children and teens received a shiny bicycle, just in time for school, thanks to Mayor Mike Spano's annual bike drive. Molinaro Signs Measure To Cut Solar Energy Tax DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess County residents who use solar energy will save money under a new a resolution signed into law Thursday by Dutchess County Executive Marcus Molinaro.  Passed by the Legislature on Monday, Aug. 14., the resolution makes residential solar energy exempt from county sales taxes.
