Police: Man Who Drives On Lawn Of Mahopac House Didn't Have Valid License A Mahopac man was charged with driving without a license after he drove across the front lawn of a residence recently, according to Carmel police. Following the incident on Mount Hope Road, Jan Doda, 51, presented a Slovakian Identification card, but did not have a New York State driver's license, police said. He was released on his own recognizance pending a future court date.

According to police, the tree has been removed, but electrical wires are still hanging in the roadway. Commuters should expect delays until Con Edison has repaired the lines, police said. No one was injured in the incident.

Hiker Found Dead On Side Of Cliff In Putnam The Putnam County Coroner's Office is determining a cause of death for a hiker found dead on Breakneck Ridge on July 17, according to the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation.
