East Fishkill Rescue Captain, Stormville Fire Company Member Rita Gallo, 82
Nora Rita Gallo, an area resident since 1960 who was active with served with two local fire and rescue departments, died Monday, July 24, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 82.
Born in Buckhannon, West Virgina, on Aug. 25, 1934, Gallo was the daughter of Lillie Eskew. She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in both Stormville and Union Vale.

Hiker Found Dead On Side Of Cliff In Putnam
The Putnam County Coroner's Office is determining a cause of death for a hiker found dead on Breakneck Ridge on July 17, according to the Office of Parks, Recreation & Historic Preservation.
Jason Kindopp, 48, of New York City, was found on the side of a cliff near the Route 9D tunnel, said Randy Simons, spokesman for the department.
Breakneck, which spans the border of Philipstown in Putnam County and Fishkill in Dutchess County, is considered one of the most challenging hiking spots in the area.
