20 Summonses Issued During Pedestrian Safety Detail In Ramapo ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  Ramapo Police officers spent the day Thursday working in plainclothes for pedestrian safety and ended up handing out 20 summonses, mostly to pedestrians.  The department began their pedestrian safety effort at least a year before four pedestrians were mowed down by a man passing on the shoulder of Route 52 in Monsey. One of the four, a three-month-old infant later died. DWI Peekskill Motorist Pulled Over After Getting Lost, Kent Police Say A Peekskill man who was lost ended up being charged with DWI after a Kent Police officer stopped to offer him help, according to the Kent Police. Davin Vazquez, 49, was sitting in his car on Towners Road with the flashers on when Officer Angel Rivera stopped to offer help. After talking with Vazquez the officer realized that he was intoxicated and he was arrested instead of being given directions, police said. Vazquez was charged with DWI and released on $120 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

Hudson Valley Man Identified As Bear Mountain Bridge Jumper A Rockland County man has been identified as the person who jumped from the Bear Mountain Bridge on Wednesday, according to the New York State Police. Michael R. Hirsch, 67, of New City jumped from the bridge around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday. His body was recovered at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, said Trooper Melissa McMorris told Daily Voice. The State Police were assisted by the Rockland County Sheriff's Office Marine Boat and the New York State Park Police.

Brewster Man Charged With DWI After Erratic Driving Stop PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. - A Brewster man was arrested for DWI on June 29, after Kent Police received several calls for a vehicle driving erratically along Route 52 and Route 311, Kent Police said. Sgt. Alex VanderWoude was able to locate Michael Hickey, 62, and stop him on Route 311 near Ludington Court, said Kent Police Chief Alex Divernieri.
