New Person Accuses Ex-Town Of Poughkeepsie Officer Of Forcibly Touching A former lieutenant with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department who left the force to become an attorney was charged Friday for the third time in connection with ongoing sexual abuse case, according to the  Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. Wayne Thatcher, 63, who was first charged on May 18 following an investigation into another case, was charged with felony sexual abuse after another person came forward with information, said Capt. Car Crash Brings Down Pole, Wires In Town Of Poughkeepsie Motorists are asked to avoid the area of Spring Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie as police and fire officials work to clear a single-vehicle accident that brought down a power pole, according to Town of Poughkeepsie Police. The accident occurred around 2:50 p.m., when a car left the roadway and hit a pole, bringing wires down into the roadway, police said. Woman Injured As Car Overturns On Taconic State Parkway An 88-year-old woman was injured Friday around 11 a.m. when she lost control of her car on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess, according to the New York State Police. The unidentified woman, a resident of Chatham in Columbia County, was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, said Trooper Melissa McMorris of the NYPD. The woman  was traveling northbound just south of Beekman Road, when she exited the roadway, flipping the car and striking a rock embankment, McMorris said The accident is under investigation.

Police Search For Suffern Suspect ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. --  Clarkstown Police are asking for the public's help in locating a Suffern man wanted on a warrant for possession of drugs.Kevin Williams, 24, is wanted for failing to show up for his court hearing in relation to a drug charge, police said. He is described as being a white male, 5-foot-8, with brown hair and eyes. Williams was last known to live in the Suffern area. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Clarkstown Police Warrant Unit at 845-639-5880.
