White Plains Man Charged With DUI After SUV Lands In Bedford Pond
WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A White Plains man is behind bars after driving his SUV into a backyard pond in the Town of Bedford around 10 a.m. Thursday, said Bedford Police.
James Cobb, 49, was charged with felony DWI/Drugs, driving with an open container, felony unlicensed operation, driving without a license and felony driving without an interlock device, after losing control of his vehicle at 141 Black Brook Road and driving into the pond, said Sgt. Richard Hubert.

LaGrange Trainer Competes On 'American Ninja Warrior'
To all those cross-fit junkies out there who think they have what it takes to be an "American Ninja Warrior," think again.
"It takes more than being a strong, fit person," said Charles Smith of Poughkeepsie, who appears on the show on Monday, July 10. "It takes discipline, years of training and someone who has a diverse personality."

Dover Man Found With Cocaine, Shotgun In Task Force Bust
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Dover man is behind bars following a warrant search on Thursday by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force that netted cocaine and an illegal shotgun.
Gregory Pittman, 42, of Berkshire Road in Dover, was busted after task force agents investigated complaints of drug trafficking happening at the home, said Frank Tasciotti, assistant director of the task force.
During the search, with help from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Unit, agents found at least a half-ounce of cocaine and an illegal shotgun, Tasciotti said.

Rockland Offering Free Rabies Shots For Pets
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Rockland County residents will be able to have their pets vaccinated against rabies for free during a clinic on Sunday, July 9 in Pomona.The clinic, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will be held at the Rockland Fire Training Center on Memorial Drive.
Shots are available to dogs, cats, and ferrets. All must be on leashes, healthy, and at least three months old. Cats and ferrets not on leashes should be in an open-top container.
Shot are free, however, a $5 donation would help defray costs.

Vietnam Vet William H. Valery, 71, Of Ossining
OSSINING, N.Y. -- William H. Valery, 71, a resident of Ossining and formerly of Flushing, died Wednesday, July 5.
Born in New York City on Jan. 15, 1946, Valery was the son of the late William H. and Bertha (Taraci) Valery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and an avid golfer and baseball fan.
He is survived by his two daughters, Melissa (Brian) Stoddart and Lauren Valery, and his siblings Judith and Jo Ann Valery-Hayes.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with the services at 3:30 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home, 14 Emwilton Place, Ossining.
