Ramapo Police Make Raccoon Rescue RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police saved a couple of trapped raccoons on Saturday.The raccoons were discovered after the department received a call regarding noisy raccoons. When the officer arrived he found them in garbage cans and quickly came to their rescue by tipping the cans over and letting them go.  Once they scurried out of the can, the officer told them "they were free to go," but not towards him.
