Man Wanted For Disorderly Conduct Caught With Cocaine, Orangetown PD Says
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A local man wanted for disorderly conduct was nabbed with cocaine after a police officer recognized him walking down Main Street on Sunday in Nyack, said Orangetown Police.
Nicholas Diaz, 26, of Thiells, was arrested around 12:46 a.m. after the officer patrolling the Main Street area saw Diaz and knew there was active warrant for his arrest, police said.
During a search, police found two ziplock bags containing cocaine, police said.
Diaz was charged wtih felony possession of a controlled substance. He is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $5,000 bail.
Funeral Services Scheduled For Second Arlington HS Student Killed In Crash
Funeral services have been set for Dillon Colon, 18, who died after being involved in a car crash at the end of May in LaGrange.
Visiting hours are 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, in Hopewell Junction.
Funeral services will take place at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Church, 15 North Ave., in Millbrook, one week before the Arlington High School senior was due to graduate.
Colon was driving a car with his best friend, 17-year-old Ryan Mucci when they crashed off Todd Hill Road and hit a tree.

Fire Destroys Putnam Home
Patterson firefighters battled an early morning fire on Sunday for more than nine hours before it could be knocked down due to the lack of fire hydrants, according to the Patterson Fire Department.
To fight the fire, which started around 3:30 a.m. at Route 292 and Harmony Road, water had to be trucked in by tankers, said Chief Matt Szpindor.
To help battle the blaze, the department received mutual aid from Putnam Lake, Lake Carmel, Carmel, Pawling, and East Fishkill firefighters, he added.

South Salem Man Found Dead At Westchester County Jail
A South Salem man was found dead in his cell early Wednesday at the Westchester County Jail, after hanging himself with his bed sheets, said Justin Pruyne, deputy commissioner of the Department of Correction.
Bassem Yousef, 30, was booked into jail on June 9 on a parole warrant and underlying drug possession charge, Pruyne said.
Yousef's is the second suicide at the jail this year. An investigation is taking place regarding the latest suicide, Pruyne said.
