Main Span Temporary Structure Removal Begins On New Tappan Zee Bridge
Opening day for the new Tappan Zee Bridge inches closer as workers began removing temporary access structures on the westbound main span towers this week, following the installation of the permanent maintenance elevators. The temporary structures are being removed with the assistance of the giant red main span tower cranes, which will also be dismantled in the coming weeks. And as the giant cranes come down, residents keeping an eye the bridge's progress may notice a new mobile crane near the Rockland landing in the median separating the Thruway’s northbound and southbound traffic lanes. …

Dutchess County Fair fans who love that "thrill a minute" rush can get their tickets now for the six days of fun coming in August to Rhinebeck. Ullman Vote Delayed To Serve As Ramapo Supervisor
ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Ramapo is still without a supervisor after the Town Board declined to vote on Wednesday to have Town Councilman Yitzchok Ullman fill the position until the November election, according to lohud.com. Ullman, who is also the Deputy Supervisor, and has been handling the supervisor duties, was expected to take the helm at least until the November election following the board's vote. Parole Interview For Comptroller Who Stole $500K From Beekman Moved
A planned parole hearing in July for Fred Knapp, the former town comptroller for the Town of Beekman who has been in prison since 2015 for stealing more than $500,000 from the town, won't take place until next year. "At this time, Fred Knapp is scheduled for his initial Board of Parole interview in January 2018," said Patrick Bailey, a spokesman for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
