The unidentified man was injured when he lost control of his vehicle on Scotland Hill Road around 2:32 a.m. in the Village of Chesnut Ridge and struck a tree, police said. Large Fuel Spill Occurs Near Putnam Valley Library A large fuel spill Tuesday afternoon that may have come from a truck has closed one lane of Oscawana Lake Road while Putnam Valley firefighters work to contain the spill, according to Putnam Valley Fire officials. The body, found around 9 a.m. just south of Kaal Rock in the City of Poughkeepsie, was determined to be a suicide according to the medical examiner's office, said Capt. John Watterson. Kristen Prentice, 33, was charged with criminal contempt and violation of a protective order after officers received a call to check on her welfare, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
